Sunset 44 Tour
| Restaurant Spotlight |
Forty-six years of tradition have made Sunset 44 one of the classiest restaurants in Kirkwood.
Walking inside, one is visually stunned at the beauty of the interior. Perfectly folded napkins sitting atop the most pristine, white tablecloths make the perfect scene for a night out with the significant other. The walls are decorated with gorgeous paintings and decorations that set a mood for the evening or afternoon.
The bar, which is as elegant and striking as the rest of the restaurant, is fully stocked and joined by a personal collection of beers, ranging from Berlin to Boston. As impressive as this collection is, it is dwarfed by the immense wine selection Sunset 44 has. The compilation of wines from around the world is so large; the wines are stored in a separate room, kept cold and humidified. If this panorama isn’t enough to convince you of the style of Sunset 44, surely the kitchen will.
The amazing thing about Sunset 44 is its kitchen. The kitchen is no huge, warehouse style kitchen. It is small. Surprisingly small. This means its freezer and refrigerator are also small. When you look inside Sunset 44’s walk-in freezer and refrigerator, you notice something you don’t normally see in most kitchens. Space. This free space means only one thing, Sunset 44 buys organic vegetables, prime meat, and freshly caught fish every morning. As you look around the kitchen, it is a wonder how less than a dozen chefs make homemade biscuits, butcher the best cuts of meat, and prepare salads with in season vegetables every day.
Despite all the surreal food and beautiful decorations, Sunset 44 never loses touch with its customers. Special events, highlighting fine food and wines from countries such as France and Spain are planned.
With both the elegant interior and the finely prepared meals, it is easy to say the Sunset 44’s future looks just as bright as it’s past.
